Weight Loss Challenge

Happy Sunday!  I've been taking it easy.  Probably too easy because I am no where near reaching my step goal.  I'm gonna need to turn it up this evening.   The refrigerator needs cleaning out and that will require multiple trips to the trashcan!  I also need to plan this weeks meals which will mean a trip to the store.  I can still hit my goal!

I worked out super hard last night.  It was a medium night and the zone 2 interval added a minute.  I ran 3 miles in 35 minutes; that is crazy for me.  I only made it through two cycles.  I was tired.  I really had to push myself through that workout.

You are probably wondering why I titled this post "Weight Loss Challenge".  I have been wanting to do something that challenged myself but provided for someone else.  This summer our mission trip worked at a local food pantry and the city foodbank.  It is amazing to see how many people need these services.  I am also a huge fan of The Biggest Loser.  So being inspired by their Pound for Pound Challege, I have decided to do this for my weight loss too!  For every pound I have lost and every pound that I will lose I intend to donate the equivalent in food!  The plan is to stockpile my loses and donate when I reach goal!   I'll post pictures of my progress.  First, I have 80 pounds of food to accumulate!!

Stay tuned for all my progress!

  1. You are a rockstar Ms. Brigitte! 3 miles in 35 mins. is AWESOME. I just ran a 5K today in lovely humidity and finished in 36:52--I'm still trying to break 35.

  2. Go Robyn! In a nice climate controlled gym anything is possible. The treadmill always makes it easier!! Outside in the heat and humidity, I would take an hour :) LOL!!

  3. What an awesome thing to be doing with your own personal Pound For Pound Challenge! I saw your comment over at Kyoko's and decided I had to come say hi and I'm SO glad I did. You're what my gramps would have called "good peeps" (even before "peeps" became common!) :)

  4. Karen, Welcome!! I am glad to have you! Thank you for the wonderful comment. I try every day to live my life with purpose. I'm actually kicking around the idea of donating my previous loses now. The shelves are much lower in the summer and the pantries need it. Especially, since my goal is still so far off!

  5. Ooo! A fridge clean out definitely counts as exercise. And with all the whining and yelling about the goo at the bottom of the fridge, I'm certain to burn extra calories.

  6. @Yum Yucky, The goo is the worst part. I especially love when the goo is sticky and anything in cardboard is now permanently stuck to the fridge shelf. EWWWWW!
